Back Home After Good Travels

I am back home after five terrific days in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and on the Navajo Reservation at St. Michaels, Arizona. Thanks so much to all of my professors at UNM for good conversation and for attending my talk. Thanks especially to David D. and Suzanne O. for their hospitality, delicious meals, and sharing their wonderful home with me. And thank-you to Mariann S. and Sarah S. for joining me for good meals out too. Oh, how I miss the food in Albuquerque!

And, a huge thank you to my anthropologist friend Jill A. and her husband Chris for showing me all around St. Michaels, Window Rock, Ganado, and Fort Defiance as well as introducing me to their Navajo friends. It was a real treat seeing Jill’s field site and participating in her busy life, especially at lambing time. And, congrats to the St. Michaels Cardinals baseball team on a thrilling extra-innings win at the regional tournie on Saturday. (I heard you made it into the semi-finals … ! Must have been the well-prepared line up card that did it!!)
