Tsawwassen Treaty and Farmland

If it wasn’t already clear, a recent article in the South Delta Leader adds further evidence of the concern over the Tsawwassen Treaty’s impact on farmland. From the article:

Defenders of the region’s farmland are reluctantly preparing to oppose B.C.’s first urban treaty—a cause many sympathize with—because it will unleash a new attack on the Agricultural Land Reserve.

It’s a nightmare scenario, admit ALR advocates who aren’t eager to stand between the Tsawwassen and their historic treaty and be denounced as anti-native.
