My status

I am a cultural anthropologist working and researching in British Columbia, Canada. My interests are in the areas of linguistic anthropology and environmental anthropology. I recently completed a PhD in the Department of Anthropology at the University of New Mexico, in Albuquerque, NM, USA. The dissertation is based on research with aboriginal hunters in northwestern British Columbia.

I live in North Vancouver, British Columbia, and teach anthropology at Douglas College.

This blog is designed with my students in mind. It is meant to engage my students in anthropological conversations as well as to help me think about the applications of anthropological theory to activities or events of everyday life. It is also a place for me to record information about aboriginal rights and land title in British Columbia, Canada. See this post for a little more information.

Please visit my website for more information about my teaching and research interests.

Note: The photograph on the header was taken in the Klappan Valley, northwestern British Columbia, Canada, on October 2, 2002.
